Find a Book

See what is in our Library, click here!

There are five main ways you can do a search in Destiny.

  1. Keyword Search - used when you know the subject, but you aren't sure exactly what you want (e.g. animals).
  2. Title Search - used when you know the title of a book you are looking for but do not know where to find it in the library (e.g. Horrible Harry).
  3. Author Search - used when you want to know all the books that the library has by a certain author (e.g. Dahl, Roald).
  4. Subject Search - used when you want to find books on a specific topic such as California.
  5. Series Search - used when you want to see the books the library has in a certain series (e.g. Bones).

You simply put the cursor in the box marked "find" and type the title, author, keyword, subject or series.

Next you click on either the Keyword, Title, Author, Subject or Series button. A list of books will appear on the screen!  Highlight a book you are interested in and click the title.
The next screen will give you information about the book.  When you find the book you want, write down the CALL number (the address where the book lives in the library).  Then you read the library book shelves until you find the book.  Easy!  And remember, Mrs. Jewell is always happy to point you in the right direction.
