Field Trips

We greatly appreciate parents who make time in their busy schedules to drive on field trips! Here is what you need to know and do before you can drive:

  • Students are required to have a signed permission slip for each trip. BART, buses, and parent drivers are use to transport students.
  • When parents/guardians drive, they must provide a copy of the insurance coverage in order to drive.
  • The driver must sign a Personal Automobile Use Form stating that: they hold a valid Driver’s License; the driver carries insurance with a minimum coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury and $25,000 property damage; the driver understands that his or her own insurance is primary and District insurance is considered secondary; the form must be signed by the driver and approved by the site administrator; the driver provides the office with proof of insurance showing expiration date. Forms are available in the office. Once on file, it is good for the entire school year.
  • Please update your form if there are any changes. Each person in the car must use a seat belt. Students in other grade levels or those not in school (i.e. siblings) may not accompany parent drivers. No exceptions are allowed.
  • Trips may be canceled if not enough drivers are not available.
  • Students who violate school rules may be denied the privilege of participating in field trips.
